hi, is it natural that only 8 out of 20+ scorplings survived when they molt to 2nd instar? i'm so dissapointed on myself, i feel like i'm a careless breeder!

What species? Temps and humidity? Pictures of your set up would all be helpful in determining what could have gone wrong.

You have a %40 survival rate which is much higher then what would happen in the wild.

Sorry to hear that karamelonz.

On the bright side, 8 is a good number to start a colony from.

Like what Yames had queried, more info would be helpful to get advice.

+1

Let's see if there's something that could be improved on the husbandry, or if this was a case of "weak brood".

sorry for the late reply, been busy on my studies, i think its just a case of weak brood cause my other HH just got scorpling (i think its already 5days) i didnt even noticed it and i think they are already 2instar and all the babies survived, they are more than 20, my problem now is how can i separate them on the back of their mother since they are not leaving there.

what tools should i use not to hurt the babies? i already bought delicups.. or they will leave there after a few days?

You don't separate them from here back. Just wait until they all come down by themselves. The you may relocate the mother out of the enclosure to make you more room for separating all the young.
