Topic Another (smaller) scorpion trip

Spent a few days near Bethulie in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and off course had some time to see what I could dig up scorpion wise. It was pretty cold but I did manage to find a few species and other critters as well.

Some pics of the general habitat:

Hadogenes trichiurus:

Opistophthalmus latimanus female:

Their habitat:

The Hadogenes hide between the cracks of the rocks while the Opistophthalmus make burrows like these underneath rocks:

Uroplectes triangulifer female:

Parabuthus planicauda male:

Parabuthus planicauda female:

P.planicauda is one of the smaller Parabuthus species but this female was huge in comparison to the others:

P.planicauda sitting in it's scrape:

U.triangulifer and P.planicauda habitat, both are found by just flipping rocks:

Not a bad way to spend a few days imo Smile
