My new Androctonus Australis
So... Surprise !!!
Ok.. no excuses....
I did it again
I am not going to bore you guys with personal issues, but I am having a very rough time in my Life. And I am trying to stay strong. And I need myself some scorpions because they are my passion, and my passion keeps me going, and makes me want to get up in the morning.
Today I went to the Expo... and found underneath a pile neatly stacked scorps this very active and feisty little Androctonus Australis. And I was think about my Obi lately and you never forget that first Buthid. This is a complete different scorpion and I love it's feistiness, it was not afraid of me, and actively tried to get to my finger when in the deli cup. I found it a strong and healthy animal and loved it immediately.
I knew I wanted it...
I knew I needed it...
So I bought it.....
So here it is...
Not clear what sex it is I am speculating female by the larger distance between the pectines, but further study might be necessary....
GS, you seem to have a lot of experience with sexing this genus, what do you think?
I am making her a custom enclosure tomorrow For now it resides in a temporary setup which will do for now.
Please enjoy for your necessary scorpion addiction maintenance....

Re: My new Androctonus Australis
Hey y'all:)
Been busy pretty much all day...
Yesterday night I went to get a little custom made glass tank with a halogen spot.
This morning I went to the pet store for a custom background.
And then I started fiddling around....
===========================================================
P!NK - Just Give Me A Reason....
Right from the start
You were a thief
You stole my heart
And I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed them
Full set up:

Take care,
Joey

Re: My new Androctonus Australis
You´re lucky to have that kind of Expos in your country.
She´s a beauty. Looks like a female to me, though a pectine tooth count would definitely take away any doubts.
Nice work on the enclosure too!

Re: My new Androctonus Australis
I'm so jealous right now
Maybe you could show us your whole collection together and how they look in your room?
Also where do you get those cool backgrounds?
Cheers.
