Mites on Rhopalurus Garridoi
Hi guys, I just want to ask how to remove mites in this R. garridoi(6i). There are only few of mites on her but I'm worried if they eventually become hundreds. I can't brush it because the mites are near her eyes.
Help please..

Most mites die if you can reduce the moisture. But since scorpions don't use their eyes for much brush them off if you can do so safely.

Thank you very much for your answer, sir James. I need to relocate her to other enclosure that is clean from mites.. And I can start to do the operation.

I don't know what the hottest temp you can keep your R. garridoi is, but the hotter and dryer you can make it the better.

Preferably not exceeding 34 degree Celsius and never under direct sunlight.

The temperature of the room is about 34 degree celsius and the I provided a little mist just enough for her to drink. Now, I can only see 7-8 mites on her carapace.

That's great news.
Rhopalurus garridoi are quite prone to mycosis. For 6.instar and above, we should not mist but provide a shallow bottle cap for in terms of water provisioning

One more question, in case that they have mycosis, how can I cure it?

Re: Mites on Rhopalurus Garridoi
Different keepers has their ways of dealing with it. For me it's simple, try to control and reduce the humidity/moisture in the enclosure, if it's yet an adult, a molt will most likely "cure" the specimen before death gets his hands dirty.
If the specimen is an adult, hopefully the controlled envirnoment will reduce the spreading of mycosis and allow the scorpion to live to it's fullest

Thank you for the nice answer, GS. I hope that I will not worry to cure this mycosis thing but prevent it before it happens.
