Thanks man. I have found that adult males seem OK when kept like that but I have only done it with two species so don't try it just yet lol. Males and females together is a big no imo when it comes to Parabuthus but then again if the enclosure is big enough and they are fed regularly I can't see any problems arising. It's better to be safe than sorry though.

Not the greatest photo but this my P.granulatus female +- 4 months into gestation. Her last mating only gave 32 scorplings which is kind of small for Parabuthus so hopefully this season goes better.
Here she is, I also got a measurement of her size before I mated her and she hit the 16cm mark

Male Parabuthus planicauda, one of the few species that doesn't show sexual dimorphism by chela size.

Thanks Xean, I use no special equipment. Only an old 8mp Fujifilm S8000 lol. It's all about the lighting and a steady hand for me.

They only occur in a small area in the North Western part of South Africa that borders with Namibia so they are pretty rare.
