This forum is for you to post breeding reports based on your personal experience. While all of us would share your joy in a successful breeding attempt, it would be beneficial for everyone to learn from failed attempts as well, hence, please include as much information as possible.

In an effort to organise the breeding report forum for enhanced readability and usefulness.
Please adhere to the latest set of Posting Instructions below:

POSTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Please do not submit a breeding report until after the young have molted to 2.instar and come off the mother's back.
Exceptions will be given to the following scenarios:
* An entire brood dies
* Undeveloped embryos

To keep things clear and useful to the reader, please use the following standard format:
(Copy,paste & amend/delete when required)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Choose 1 or 2):
**************************************************

1. Deliberate mating of an adult pair

* Brood status: (Successful / Unsuccessful)
* Reason for failure: (if any, e.g. mom eats the entire brood/ undeveloped embroys)
* Instar of the male/female pair: (e.g. 6.instar male mated with a 7.instar female)
* Steps taken to mate the pair: (e.g. introduced mating and separated after that, communal setup for the pair)
* Duration taken for signs of gestation: (e.g. observation of embryos, hostility, increase heat basking, decrease in activity)
* Environmental conditions for the gravid female: (e.g. the conditions in which you have keep her in)
* Gestation period: (estimate duration from first successful mating attempt to birthing of the young)
* Number of young born:
* Number of young eaten by mom: (if any)
* Number of young surviving to 2.instar:

2. Purchased/ Wild-caught a gravid female

* Brood status: (Successful / Unsuccessful)
* Reason for failure: (if any, e.g. mom eats the entire brood/ undeveloped embroys)
* Environmental conditions for the gravid female: (e.g. the conditions in which you have keep her in)
* Number of young born:
* Number of young eaten by mom: (if any)
* Number of young surviving to 2.instar:

**************************************************
Note: If you do not have the exact statistics (e.g. number of young born, gestation period or duration of molting intervals) please provide an approximation.

ADDITIONAL INFO ARE A BIG PLUS!

(These are optional but highly encouraged for better learning experience)

* Photos will definitely spice up the entire breeding report!
* Birthing duration: (Duration taken by scorpion mom to complete giving birth to her young)
* Number of days taken for the young to molt into 2.instar from birth:
* Number of days taken for the 2.instar scorplings to dismount from mom's back:
* Preparation for the adult pair prior to mating
* Number of mating attempts recorded for the pair
* Observations during the mating attempts
* Mom's feeding schedule before and after giving birth

SUBSEQUENT UPDATES:
(We will appreciate subsequent updates to your own breeding report, e.g. the life-cycle recordings of the different molts intervals)

Moting intervals for the scorplings:
* 1.instar - 2.instar: 5 days
* 2.instar - 3.instar: 20 days
* 3.instar - 4.instar: 25 days
* and the list goes on..

THINGS TO NOTE:
The title of the thread should just be the full species name
(if you don't know for certain the species, just put the genus e.g. Centruruoides spp)

Please start a new thread for each report as each will be indexed here.
(This is to help prevent getting mixed up between updates of different breeding reports)

Multiple reports per species are highly encouraged -- the more knowledge to share, the better!

Failure to meet the minimum requirements will result in the removal of the report.
(Determination whether the minimum requirements have been met is at the discretion of the mods/admins)

Excessive chatter and discussion will be deleted, to keep the reports from getting cluttered and to help readability.

If you wish to discuss anything in details with regards to these breeding reports, please refrain from posting it here. You may post it in the appropriate forum and link the specific breeding report from there as a point of discussion or simply contact the thread starter via PM or email.

We hope this will become another valuable resource that we can offer you.

Thank you for contributing.
