Tityus stigmurus molting concerns
The following query is extracted from https://www.facebook.com/ScorpionArchives timeline. It is posted here so that peeps with similar queries may find suggestive advice or solution for their concern.
In my experience, it is not surprising for molting intervals to stretch up to 3-5 months for some bark scorpions. Molting intervals are often influenced by the husbandry conditions that we have provided them.
If it's possible, it will be good to post pictures of your enclosure and let us know how are you keeping these Tityus stigmurus with you e.g. water provision, temperature, humidity, feeding intervals etc. If you need a confirmation on her instar, you may also post a picture of her beside a ruler or measuring tape for better estimation.
Zeb Dolores wrote:Hi, my tityus stigmurus is in 4th instar. since mid-january, it stopped eating every feeder that I offered to it. i thought it was is premolt stage, but until now, it has not molted.
i'm worried that it may eventually result to a "bad molt". what can you advice me to do? thanks in advance.

hey GS. It's me, zeb. my t. stigmurus' enclosure has a diameter of 10cm (at substrate level) and with a height of 11cm. substrate depth is 3cm. has a water dish. 60 percent substrate misted. enough ventilation.
i wish to post the photo of it if only i learned how to post pics here.. please tell me how.

Not a prob Zeb. Do note that the molting intervals varies across specimens. It is not surprising for a T.stigmurus to hold it's molt for as long as 4 months, or in some weird scenarios, a specimen can remain in pre-molt for like eternity...
"till death do us part kind of thing.. "
Keep her well in the correct husbandry (e.g. temperature, humidity and water provision) and I hope she'll molt for you very soon

Hi.. the premolt stage has finally came to an end..
The reason of her death may be high humidity and the scorching heat of the Philippines.
Still, thanks to GS for taking his time answering this..

Sorry for your loss. They are generally very toletant to some extend of humidity. As your setup seems good, this may be an isolated incident.
Better luck will come
